Bolshoi Ballet: Don Quixote at NAC Southam Hall

Why see Bolshoi Ballet: Don Quixote?

The Bolshoi Bring their best

Don Quixote is ballet at its most powerful and vivid. Based on Cervantes's famous novel 'Don Quixote de la Mancha', this adaptation combines art, energy and performers who have mastered their art. Don Quixote is one of their most well-known pieces, and a work that has an intimate connection with the company, receiving its world premiere at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1869. It was originally adapted by Marius Petipa, with music being supplied by Ludwig Minkus.

The literal translation of Bolshoi is 'great' or 'grand'. It aptly describes the work of Bolshoi Ballet company, one of the most revered companies in the world, who are famed for their lavish, vibrant productions.
