Singer-songwriter pioneer John Mellencamp continues to tour playing music from his back catalog as well as more recent albums, including 2022's Strictly A One-Eyed Jack. Mellencamp's career stretches back some over thirty years, and he has molded his brand of dusky heartland rock to every new genre and style that comes along. From Springsteen-Esque anthems to stripped down, T-Bone Burnett produced country songs, his sharp and simple lyrical style that is unerringly able to pinpoint the mood of the nation has continued to shine through. Among his best-known tracks are 'Jack and Diane', which spent four weeks at Number 1, and 'Hurts So Good'. Along the way, he's been awarded a Grammy and been inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Mellencamp is funny, caring and brilliantly talented!
It was the perfect combo of humour, politics and music. He told us hilarious but very touching stories when playing his new songs... he let us sing along to his old stuff and corrected us when we forgot a verse and went right into the chorus... and had a running gag throughout the whole concert about how Canadians should build a wall to keep the Americans out (and that it'd only need to be a few feet tall to confuse the USA nowadays). ... Mellancamp Still Rocks!
Saw him in concert last week. The beginning half hour was bad, but the concert itself was OUTSTANDING! what did these other people expect from the concert. If they know him and his music he has a message he wants to portray in his songs. I'd see him again, if given the opportunity. Money well spent. As for the disgruntled, stay HOMW! ... Read more

Was not disappointed!!
I saw Mellencamp in Memphis in 1984 and enjoyed this show as much as that one. Played a lot of classics plus several songs off Strictly a One eyed Jack. John seemed to really enjoy himself and the crowd responded in kind. I didn't know what to expect from earlier reviews but i thought he and his voice and band were in fine form. No preaching just a lot of great music. Having Lisa Germano back adds that something special to the show. I thought the TCM show was too long but most of the crowd knew it was going to be there so no problem in Memphis. If I could I would go back for the second show!!
